Herby Ham Activity Center

Every month, live music and dances are held at the Herby Ham Activity Center. .From Sock Hops, to Gospel Night Out, to live country and music dances with the Back Woods Band and Country From the Heart, these events have all of the fun in an tobacco and alcohol free facility. So if you are ready to learn a few new dance steps, call us or read our newsletter for what's happening this month!

Herby Ham Activity Center was created from the vision of Herby Ham, who had tremendous heath issues throughout his life.  Adopting the moto "To stay youthful, stay useful" Herby's dream was to create a facility that would help adults do just that, where they could learn new skills, have a variety of activities, exercise, stay or get healthy, and make friends.  In 1990 HHAC became a reality opening on Main in Uvalde, TX.  The new facility, a 21,000 square feet complex, was completed in 2013 housing a swimming pool, exercise rooms, event facilities, meeting rooms, a wood shop and a gift shop.

Presently, over 500 people come through our doors each week for everything from water aerobics, game days, exercise classes, dance instruction, craft classes, wood shop, dances and rentals.

Events are held throughout Uvalde including our Farmers Market on the first and third Thursday of the month and Prayer in the Square held on the second Friday of each month.  Both of these events are held in town square.

There is always something going on at the Herby Ham Activity Center. Join in on a round of Bingo, or play a game of cards and meet some new friends.

Bake sales regularly holds bake sales at Tractor Supply in Uvalde.  Delicious breads, pies. cookies,c candies and cakes are just a few of the items offered. All Proceeds benefit the Herby Ham Activity Center.

Herby Ham's philosophy was that busy hands and active, productive minds lead to better physical, mental and spiritual health and the Center embodies his vision. Anyone aged 18 and over may use the facility.
